New breakthrough! Asia's first deepwater jacket "Haiji-1" was completed

On February 28, 2022, the construction of "Haiji-1", Asia's first deepwater jacket independently designed and built by China, has been completed, marking a new breakthrough in the design and construction technology of China's ultra-large fixed offshore oil and gas platform jacket.

According to reports, the fixed offshore oil and gas platform is the most widely used offshore oil and gas development facility in the world, with the advantages of large deck area, large variable load, and safe and reliable structure. The jacket is the "foundation" of a fixed offshore oil and gas platform, supporting the platform's huge body and tonnage.

With a total height of 302 meters, close to the height of the Eiffel Tower, and a weight of 30,000 tons, the "Haiji-1" can make one medium-sized aircraft carrier with steel used, and is the first 300-meter-class deep-water jacket in Asia.

Because of the characteristics of flexible use, convenient loading and unloading, and large load capacity, many Sany crawler cranes on site are used for the transportation and shipment of heavy, large, high, and special-shaped structures. Among them, SCC12000TM and SCC4000A-2 are located in the transportation layer, and SCC2000A and SCC2600A are located in the output layer.

According to Wang Changlin, project manager of COOEC-Fluor Construction, the construction of the "Haiji-1" jacket faced many challenges during the construction of the jacket, such as difficult welding control deformation, high difficulty in hoisting, and tight construction period. The project team adopted a variety of measures to efficiently promote construction and create a three-dimensional quality control plan to ensure the smooth completion of the project, which is the result of the successful completion of every link.

It is understood that the "Haiji-1" will be installed at sea in late March. As the "national team" of China's offshore oil and gas engineering construction, CNOOC Engineering has built more than 300 jacket platforms over the years, and the general contracting technical capabilities of fixed offshore oil and gas platforms have reached the world's advanced level, laying a solid foundation for further improving energy security and accelerating the increase of domestic oil and gas reserves and production.
