Similar to fuel vehicles, electric vehicles also need energy-saving driving, energy-saving driving is a complex system engineering related to people, vehicles, roads, etc., and the technical level of the driver to control the vehicle is the key link that affects the energy consumption of the vehicle.

The last energy-saving driving tutorial explained how to achieve energy-saving driving at different driving speeds.In the second issue, we will explain: Kinetic energy recovery operation tutorial.



Energy recovery is the main feature that distinguishes fuel vehicles from electric vehicles, the driving process of the motor is the process of power battery discharge and vehicle power consumption, and the braking process of the motor and the vehicle deceleration braking process is the process of charging the power battery by the motor, therefore, doing a good job in braking energy recovery is the key to energy-saving operation.

There are two types of energy recovery operations for electric vehicles:Braking energy recovery, electric retardation energy recovery.



Regenerative braking

During the braking process, the motor charges the battery and the mechanical braking occurs at the same time, and the mechanical braking mainly relies on the friction of the brake pads and the friction of the tires to brake the vehicle, which will produce heat dissipation.

The shorter the braking time, the shorter the motor working time, the less energy recovery, the greater the heat dissipation loss, try to avoid sudden braking and rapid deceleration under the condition of ensuring safety, and lightly press the brake to maximize the power recharge.

When ordinary vehicles are running in urban areas, the braking dissipation energy accounts for 40%~50% of the total driving energy, and the short-distance downward braking dissipation is higher, and the effective control of braking energy recovery can generally extend the vehicle's driving by 15%~20%.



Electro-retarded energy recovery

Electric retarder is similar to fuel vehicle hydraulic retardation, mainly using the motor to drag backwards, convert power or potential energy into electrical energy, and then store it in the battery (internal energy), there are two forms of electric retardation energy recovery, according to different models, there are two ways of control of the gear handle and cruise button control.

The pocket handle controls the recuperation

The operating lever of the multi-stage energy recovery of the pocket is shown in Figure 1, and the energy recovery level of the instrument is shown in Figure 2, and the current display of level 1 is displayed. The level can only be adjusted when the vehicle is in the Ready state and the speed is greater than 5km/h, and the default level of coasting energy recuperation depends on the current position of the gear.

Push the lever upwards to increase the energy recovery level to the highest level of 5, and pull the lever down to decrease the energy recovery level to the lowest level of 0.



The cruise button controls recuperation

The SET+/- function button on the right side of the steering wheel is shown in Figure 1, and the energy recovery level of the instrument is shown in Figure 2, and the current energy recovery level is displayed in 2 levels.

When the vehicle is in the Ready state and the cruise control function is not enabled (no cruise control gray and green icons), the speed of the vehicle can be adjusted at 5 km/h or more, and the default level of coasting energy recovery is 2.

When braking is not required in taxiing conditions, the cruise retarding level can be adjusted to 0 for longer taxiing range.



Toggle the silver wheel upwards (SET+), which can increase the energy recovery intensity level, the highest level is 9, and the energy recovery is the largest at this time.

Flip down the silver wheel (SET-), which can reduce the energy recovery intensity level, the lowest level is 0, and there is no energy recovery at this time. When the accelerator is pressed or the vehicle is powered off and restarted, the energy recovery level will jump to the default level 2.
