On January 21, Sany Renewable Energy's 131-meter onshore wind turbine blade was successfully rolled off the assembly line in Bayannur Zero-carbon Digital Intelligence Industrial Park, setting a new record for the world's longest onshore wind turbine blade.

Advanced technology innovation and application
The increase in the length of the blade will require higher stiffness and strength, otherwise it will cause aeroelastic problems such as stall and classic flutter, resulting in increased vibration of the blade, and in severe cases, fracture. In order to avoid the problem of "large long and soft" blades of air bomb, the Sany Renewable Energy SY1310A wind turbine blades that have been rolled off the production line this time adopt a large-thickness blunt trailing edge high-performance airfoil design in structure, optimize the airfoil arrangement, and improve the overall absolute thickness of the blades. At the same time, a number of new technologies have been introduced into the manufacturing process of the blade, including independent glass fiber nesting and pre-quilting design, long-distance online perfusion technology of large-size composite blades, and three-dimensional design technology of trailing edge cushion blocks, etc., upgrading traditional manual manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing, and improving the lean degree of product with digital intelligence technology. In addition, recyclable polyurethane structural parts are used to improve the recyclability of extra-long blades.

The product is reliable and comprehensive
In the process of technology application of large megawatt and long blade products, reliability is the most concerned issue for customers. Sany Renewable Energy upgrades the traditional glass fiber pultrusion main beam to an all-carbon pultrusion main beam, equipped with a trailing edge auxiliary beam + small web, and reasonably arranges the single/double web combination form in the main beam area, which greatly improves the rigidity and stability of the ultra-long blade, and can effectively reduce the weight compared with products of the same level. In addition, Sany Renewable Energy designed a customized lightning protection solution for the all-carbon main beam, which is protected by all-metal mesh to ensure the reliability of the blades in lightning weather. It is reported that the blade will go through the three-point bending test, trailing edge buckling test, waving fatigue test, 4+X multi-axis linear test and other components and full-size tests to fully guarantee reliability.

Leading the era of large megawatts
The SY1310A blades will be used in Sany Renewable Energy's 15MW unit, which was unveiled during the 2023 Beijing International Wind Energy Exhibition and was the world's largest onshore wind turbine at the time. The unit adopts a front-end integrated transmission system, the gearbox is directly connected to the shaft seat, simplifying the structure of the unit, reducing the failure point, and can share the lubrication and cooling system, and the rear bearing does not need to be sealed, so as to achieve lightweight. It adopts double TRB main bearing design and 4-point support structure to improve reliability. The blades and generators are independently designed by Sany Renewable Energy, which is highly synergistic with the design of the whole machine and has better performance.

In recent years, Sany Renewable Energy has continuously launched innovative products with large megawatts and long blades that are ahead of the industry, making continuous breakthroughs in technology and continuous polishing in reliability. In the future, Sany Renewable Energy will always uphold the concept of "reliability", create reliable products and services trusted by customers, and help the healthy development of the wind power industry.
