Another record! Transformers SCC52000TM completed the hoisting of the world's first 18-20MW wind storage and load grid integrated offshore wind turbine

  • 2024.08.13

On August 4, China Energy Construction Guangdong Thermal Power completed the hoisting of the world's first 18 MW-20 MW wind storage and load grid integrated offshore wind turbine at the Shantou Wind Power Linhai Test Base in Guangdong Province.

The unit is the third-generation unit of the Poseidon platform, which is aimed at the offshore high wind speed market, with a larger capacity and lower LCOE. It is understood that the annual power generation of a single 18 MW wind turbine can reach 72 million kWh, which is equivalent to reducing coal consumption by nearly 25,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 60,000 tons, which is more than 60% higher than the annual power generation of a single 11 MW model currently installed in the mainstream.

The hoisting adopts the first domestic "two-in-one" crawler that has been put into production and applied by Guangdong Thermal Power Special CompanycraneSCC52000TM (a 2000 ton + 1600 ton combined car), which is used as the main crane and the 260 ton crawler crane as the auxiliary crane for fan installation and collaborative operation. During the hoisting process, the hoisting work was successfully completed through the continuous test of the threat of typhoon "Gemei", the intrusion of strong convective weather, and the scorching heat and high temperature.

Previously, SCC52000TM had completed the installation of 13MW offshore experimental wind turbines and undertaken the lifting of the "Hualong No. 1" nuclear power dome here. The installation of 18MW test wind turbine has been completed SCC20000A the main body, and the SCC52000TM scheme is adopted this time, which has more advantages in lifting stability and operation efficiency.
