On the morning of September 11, the opening ceremony of the 2024 freshmen was held in the gymnasium of the new campus of Central South University, and more than 17,000 2024 freshmen carried ardent expectations and youthful dreams to start a new journey of life in Zhongnan.

Leaders of Central South University, Yi Hong, Li Jiancheng, Chen Xiang, Jiang Jianxiang, Peng Liwei, Li Jingsheng, Fu Ganghua, He Jun, Li Zhihong, He Xuhui, Zhao Zhongwei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ma Jun and Tang Xiuguo, alumni representatives, heads of various functional departments and secondary colleges of the school, and teacher representatives attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Executive Vice President Chen Xiang.

Tang Xiuguo, rotating chairman and president of Sany Group, was invited to speak on stage as an alumni representative.In 1979, a notice from the Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy brought a rural child into the spotlight of the times. Tang Xiuguo said that Sany Group is engaged in equipment manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing. China has 41 industrial categories, 207 medium categories, and 666 sub-categories, and is the only country in the world that has all the industrial categories in the United Nations Industrial Classification, while Central South University has the most complete coverage, and many disciplines lead the world.

Equipment is known as the backbone of industry, and without strong equipment manufacturing capabilities, a country cannot become a strong country. In major international events such as the mine rescue in Chile and the Fukushima nuclear accident rescue in Japan, Sany Equipment has demonstrated the hard core strength of China's equipment manufacturing to the world, and also reflected the unstoppable rise of China.

Since its establishment in 1986, Sany has successively produced special welding materials and synthetic diamond.
