As the first place to jointly build the "Belt and Road", Kazakhstan and China are adjacent to each other and have close cooperation. In July 2024, the two heads of state signed a joint statement, jointly announcing the beginning of the "golden 30 years" of China-Kazakhstan relations. Taking this opportunity, the strategic cooperation between China and Kazakhstan has ushered in a new historical opportunity and joined hands to move towards a new stage of high-quality development.

Sany Renewable Energy has injected green momentum into China-Kazakhstan cooperation

In 2022, Sany Renewable Energy successfully won the bid for two wind power projects in Kazakhstan, Arkarek and Dostyk, with a total installed capacity of 98MW. By the end of 2023, the two wind farms will be commissioned and connected to the grid, which will provide more than 400 million kWh of clean electricity to the local area every year, meeting the annual electricity needs of more than 28,000 families of three.

Among them, the Alcarek project uses 10 Sany Renewable Energy SI-16848 wind turbines, with a unit availability of 99.74% in 2024 and a record of 180 consecutive days of trouble-free operation. With its excellent performance, it has been selected by the National Energy Administration of China as a best practice case of international energy cooperation along the "Belt and Road", and has become a benchmark for China-Kazakhstan green cooperation. The project not only brings clean electricity, but also promotes the coordinated development of local employment and industrial chain, demonstrating Sany Renewable Energy's firm commitment to green and sustainable development.

Deepen cooperation: jointly build 1GW wind power + energy storage projects

In 2023, during the China-Central Asia Summit, witnessed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Sany Renewable Energy signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the Samruk-Kazena Fund, and CLP International, planning to build a 1GW wind power + energy storage project. The cooperation covers the development and operation of wind farms, the construction of battery energy storage systems and the development of wind turbine manufacturing plants, marking a deeper level of clean energy cooperation between the two countries.

Subsequently, during the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the three parties signed a project cooperation agreement again to further concretize the blueprint for strategic cooperation and inject new vitality into the construction of Kazakhstan's clean energy system.

In July 2024, Sany Renewable Energy signed a joint development agreement with the Samruk-Kazena Fund to jointly promote the construction of a wind power equipment manufacturing base in Zhambyl State. At the end of November 2024, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held in Chucheng, Jiangbur Prefecture. The project will not only improve the level of clean energy manufacturing in the region, but also inject a strong impetus into Kazakhstan's energy transition.
