Recently, the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology announced the first batch of low-carbon hydrogen application scenarios in the industrial field. Two benchmark projects of Sany Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd. - "Hydrogen-based Low-carbon Metallurgy and Protection Technology Application Demonstration Project" (jointly implemented with Hunan Liangang) and "Green Power Hydrogen Production and Refueling Station and Hydrogen Transportation Demonstration Project" were successfully selected.


This marks a substantial breakthrough in promoting the large-scale industrial application of green hydrogen and helping the deep decarbonization of high-carbon industries, and has been recognized by provincial authorities.




Metallurgy "replaces carbon with hydrogen" to create a new paradigm of green steel

 

The 250 standard cubic meters/hour alkaline electrolysis water hydrogen production system jointly built by Sany Hydrogen Energy and Hunan Liangang has an annual output of 2 million cubic meters of green hydrogen, achieving a breakthrough in the process of "replacing carbon with hydrogen" in the steel industry. The project innovatively applies the third-generation hydrogen production technology (DC power consumption ≤4.3kWh/Nm³), and is equipped with an intelligent control system to use green hydrogen on a large scale in two core links:


(1) Galvanizing protective gas: replace nitrogen and hydrogen mixture to improve the adhesion of zinc layer;

(2) Steelmaking reducing gas: 20% to replace coke oven gas, and reduce carbon emissions by 0.8 tons per ton of steel.


The system has been running stably for 1,500 hours, with a 99.3% equipment availability rate and an annual reduction of 12,000 tons of carbon dioxide. At present, it has been applied in the cold-rolled high-end household plate construction project of Hunan Valin Lianyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., providing a replicable and generalizable demonstration path for green metallurgy.




Transportation "production, storage and addition" to solve the bottleneck of hydrogen economy


Sany Hydrogen Energy will lead the construction and operation of a 2,000-kilogram hydrogen production and refueling station, using photovoltaic green electricity coupled with valley electricity electrolysis water hydrogen production technology, and supporting a 1,060kg hydrogen storage system to achieve 24-hour stable hydrogen supply. The project innovatively applies 2000 standard cubic/hour electrolyzer (the first engineering application in China), large-displacement compressor and intelligent control technology in the station to reduce the cost of hydrogen production to less than 28 yuan/kg.


The demonstration scenario covers hydrogen energy muck trucks, heavy trucks, logistics vehicles and other transportation fields, with a cumulative trial operation of more than one year, supplying more than 40 tons of low-carbon hydrogen and more than 400 service vehicles, fully verifying the "production-storage-refueling-use" hydrogen energy closed-loop model. Through the "car-station-trough" collaborative demonstration, it is promotedHydrogen energy equipmentIndustrialization.
