On June 30, an exciting whistle sounded from the Hong Kong China Merchants Logistics Center, and 6 new energy heavy trucks set off full of hope and mission. This marks the official operation of Sinotrans's "Bay Area Cross-border Green Express" product, and also means the birth of a new benchmark for cross-border green logistics in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This batch of Hong Kong right-hand drive electric heavy trucks provided by Sany Group is not only the first batch of registered electric heavy trucks in Hong Kong, but also the first batch of electric heavy trucks in the Greater Bay Area to be put into cross-border transportation applications. Behind them are the new efficient and low-carbon logistics channels carefully created by Sinotrans and its partners, as well as the five significant benefits brought by new energy heavy trucks.

Significant environmental benefits: The transportation industry accounts for about 20% of Hong Kong's total carbon emissions, and the use of electric heavy trucks is like a shot in the arm, which can significantly reduce carbon emissions, inject strong impetus into the Greater Bay Area to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, and make the sky bluer and the air fresher in the Greater Bay Area.
The economic benefits are considerable: on the one hand, the pressure on car prices has been reduced through large-scale procurement; On the other hand, the joint construction of the battery swap network solves the battery life problem and further reduces operating costs. At the same time, the commissioning of electric heavy trucks will drive the development of battery manufacturing, charging facility construction and other related industries, promote the upgrading and transformation of the green logistics industry in the Greater Bay Area, and inject new vitality into the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area's economy.
Outstanding social benefits: The project covers multiple links such as network collection, warehousing and distribution, trunk transportation, and port customs clearance, optimizing the allocation of logistics resources in the Greater Bay Area, promoting coordinated development between regions, making the logistics network of the Greater Bay Area more efficient and smooth, and providing strong support for the prosperity and development of the Greater Bay Area.
Strong industry demonstration: The project reduces costs through large-scale procurement, jointly builds a battery swap network to solve the endurance problem, and deeply integrates cross-border transportation with carbon footprint management, providing a pragmatic path for logistics enterprises to transform green. As the first batch of cross-border electric heavy-duty truck operation projects in the Greater Bay Area, its accumulated experience and data will provide reference for formulating relevant industry standards and technical specifications, leading the logistics industry towards a green and low-carbon future.
Policy implementation and improvement: The project is a specific action in response to national and local policies to promote green logistics and low-carbon development. The implementation of the project provides feedback information for policymakers, helps to further improve relevant policies and measures, and provides a solid policy guarantee for the sustainable development of green logistics in the Greater Bay Area.

The cross-border operation of new energy heavy trucks not only brings new opportunities and challenges to the logistics industry in the Greater Bay Area, but also provides valuable experience and reference for the development of global green logistics. Let us look forward to the help of new energy heavy trucks, the cross-border logistics in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will be greener, more efficient and sustainable, and contribute more to the prosperity and development of the Greater Bay Area!
