On November 9, CCTV2's "Economic Information Network" column reported on "China's Intelligent Manufacturing Hot Sales Overseas, Chinese Excavators in Africa", focusing on the hot sales of Sany Heavy Industry excavation machinery and mining machinery overseas.
According to data recently released by the General Administration of Customs, since the beginning of this year, our country's exports of mechanical and electrical products have continued to grow rapidly, accounting for more than 60% of the total exports. Excavators are an important category of our country's mechanical and electrical products export. In Africa, Chinese excavators rely on their intelligent advantages to show their skills in large-scale local industrial and infrastructure projects.

The African continent has diverse climate types and complex geological conditions, and needs to cope with various complex working conditions such as high temperatures, dust, and steep slopes. In South Africa, mining and large-scale infrastructure have high requirements for the efficiency, reliability and safety of construction machinery. Chinese excavators meet these core needs with their intelligent advantages, and can also continuously optimize and iterate according to the actual local environment, and are winning the recognition of more and more South African customers.

Xiao Jiang, General Manager of GHM Company in South Africa: The two biggest hot spots at present are the intelligence and automation of construction machinery, and in the African market, these two fields have great potential, especially the use of artificial intelligence big data and some technologies for remote monitoring.

In Botswana, China's intelligent excavators have carried out special windproof sand protection and heat dissipation enhancement for local high temperature and dusty working conditions, and are equipped with intelligent sensing systems, which significantly improve construction efficiency and reliability. By establishing a regional parts warehouse and an industrial Internet platform, we ensure 24-hour rapid parts supply and remote technical support to solve the timeliness pain points of equipment maintenance. With the acceleration of infrastructure in African countries and the increase in demand for mineral extraction, the excavator market is growing rapidly.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in the first half of 2025, our country's total exports of construction machinery to Africa reached US$4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 51.6%Middle diggingExcavators accounted for about 27.6% of the total exports of non-construction machinery, which was the highest proportion.

Xiao Jiang, General Manager of GHM Company in South Africa: Africa is the market with the greatest potential for mining wire products in the market, which is a very big opportunity for Chinese mining machinery.
