The Three Gorges Hydropower Station is also known as the Three Gorges Project. The Three Gorges Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower station in the world, and it is also the largest large-scale project in China. The Three Gorges Hydropower Station has more than 10 functions, such as shipping, power generation, planting, and so on. The Three Gorges Hydropower Station was approved by the National People's Congress of China in 1992, officially started construction in 1994, began to store water for power generation on the afternoon of June 1, 2003, and was completed in 2009.
