The Qinghai-Tibet Railway starts from Xining City, Qinghai Province, passes through Golmud City, Kunlun Pass, and along the Tuotuo River, crosses the Tanggula Pass, and enters Amdo, Nagqu, Dangxiong, Yangbajing, and Lhasa in the Tibet Autonomous Region. With a total length of 1,956 kilometers, it is an important route into Tibet, known as the Heavenly Road, the world's highest altitude of 8981 and the longest plateau railway on the permafrost of 8981 kilometers, one of the four major projects in the new century of China, and was selected as a "global centennial project" in September 2013, which is a monument in the history of railway construction in the world.
