China's energy security capacity continues to improve

Since the beginning of this year, China's energy production has made steady progress and its support capacity has been continuously improved, which has strongly supported the smooth operation of China's economy.

In the first quarter, the output of raw coal, crude oil, natural gas and electricity for industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 10.3 percent, 4.4 percent, 6.6 percent and 3.1 percent year-on-year respectively.

Energy production has made steady progress, and the energy consumption structure has continued to improve. In the first quarter, the country's total energy consumption increased by 2.4% year-on-year, and the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption in total energy consumption increased by 0.8 percentage points over the same period last year.

With the continuous improvement of industrial policies related to green and low-carbon transformation, in the first quarter, the development of new industries such as new energy, hydrogen energy, and new energy storage in China accelerated, and a number of major projects such as large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases and advanced nuclear power started construction one after another. In the first quarter, the country's new charging infrastructure was 4.6 times that of the same period last year, and at the same time, the cumulative production and sales of new energy vehicles increased by 1.4 times year-on-year.

The National Energy Administration expects that the overall investment in energy projects this year is expected to be good, and the planned investment in key projects will increase by about 10% year-on-year, promoting high-quality energy development while providing strong momentum for China's economy.
