Recently, GE will build two factories in New York, USA, to produce nacelles and blades for new offshore wind turbines. GE is also seeking to get rid of the problem of losing the patent battle with Siemens Gamesa and prepare for future market competition.

Previously, GE and Siemens Gamesa announced a patent battle in the United States: GE lost the lawsuit, and its offshore wind power ace model Haliade X offshore wind turbine technology was infringed and banned from sales in the United States. GE has also redesigned the Haliade X and filed relevant documents with the court, but has not yet succeeded in lifting the injunction.
GE has opened a new facility in New York to produce the redesigned Haliade X offshore wind turbines in the future. GE urgently needs to get rid of the ban as it is expected to secure new orders for 4.6GW of offshore wind turbines in New York, in addition to the orders that need to be delivered.
