More than 8.4GW of large wind power projects are distributed in 23 provinces and cities

Guangdong has recently approved many large wind power transformation projects.

On November 7, the Guangdong Jiangmen Development and Reform Commission issued the "Reply on the Approval of the "Big Generation Small" Renovation Project of CGN Jiangmen Taishan Shangchuan Island Wind Farm Project, approving the "Big Generation Small" transformation project of CGN Jiangmen Taishan Shangchuan Island Wind Farm Project, with a total installed capacity of 238MW. The project dismantles 100 0.85MW units and builds 34 new 7MW units (the actual capacity and number of units are subject to the final result of equipment bidding).

On October 30, Guangdong successively issued three approvals for wind power transformation projects, involving CGNPC's Taishan Duanfen Wind Farm, CGNPC's Taishan Guanghai Wind Farm, and CGNPC's Taishan Wencun Wind Farm. The total scale of the three large wind power projects is 301.5MW. The projects dismantled 0.85MW wind turbines and built 6.7MW wind turbines.

In recent years, according to different policies and market conditions in various places, the promotion of large wind power projects in various places has been fast and slow. This year, Fujian, Gansu, Shaanxi and other provinces approved the region's first wind power transformation project to replace small ones.

On October 16, Longyuan Power announced that the "large instead of small" isotropic transformation project of Longyuan Electric Power Gansu Yumen Wind Farm was approved by the Jiuquan Energy Bureau of Gansu Province, which is the first batch of wind power "large instead of small" isochoric transformation projects in Gansu Province.

On September 23, the 120 MW capacity increase technical transformation project of Putian Nanri Island Phase III of Longyuan Power Fujian Company was approved by the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission, which is the first approved wind power technical transformation project in Fujian Province.

On August 28, Luneng New Energy Shaanxi Branch announced that the company successfully obtained the construction index of the first wind farm transformation and upgrading project in Shaanxi Province on August 27.

In addition, according to the Hebei Development and Reform Commission, on July 30, 11 wind farm renovation and upgrading projects in Hebei Province were approved by the first batch of national approvals. After the renovation and upgrading of the project and the renewal of equipment, the scale will increase from 529,500 kilowatts to 1,628,990 kilowatts, with an additional investment of nearly 10 billion yuan, an annual power generation capacity of 4 billion kilowatt hours, and an annual power generation income of more than 1.5 billion yuan.

According to incomplete combing of public information, Fengmang Energy has launched 135 large wind power projects in 23 provinces and cities across the country, with a total scale of about 8.4GW+.

From the perspective of provinces, Ningxia, Guangdong and Shanxi have the largest capacity of wind power projects to "replace small with large" transformation projects. Among them, Ningxia is the largest, with more than 2.1GW, mainly because Ningxia started wind power transformation first. In 2021, Ningxia released the "List of Pilot Projects for "Replacing Small with Large" for Old Wind Farms in Ningxia, and identified 51 pilot projects to be updated, with a total scale of 4.7709GW. Including 2.1952GW of isovolume and 2.5757GW of capacity increase.

From the perspective of owners, China Energy Group has the largest number of large and small wind power projects, with a scale of 2.35GW, followed by Huadian with a capacity of more than 1.4GW, State Power Investment Corporation ranked third with a capacity of 882.5MW, and China General Nuclear Power Corporation followed closely with a scale of 817MW.

From the perspective of the whole machine manufacturer, 4.8GW of large wind power projects have been included in the statistics. Among them, Goldwind won the largest bid with 1.68GW, Mingyang Intelligent ranked second with a capacity of 927MW, and United Power ranked third with a capacity of about 470MW.
