Malaysia's East Coast Railway is a 688-kilometer-long project with a total contract value of about RM55 billion (about US$12.8 billion) from Gommark near the capital Kuala Lumpur in the southwest to Wakabaru in Kelantan in the northeast. The project adopts Chinese railway standards, and the train design speed is 160 kilometers per hour. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Najib Najib said that this is a project of great significance, which can not only bring 1.5% GDP growth to Malaysia, but also help Malaysia achieve a more important geographical role in Southeast Asia.

As a leading enterprise of China's construction machinery, a total of 14 large machinery and equipment of Sany Heavy Industry's excavators, rotary drilling rigs, cranes and concrete pump trucks collectively appeared at the groundbreaking ceremony, accepting the review on behalf of China's engineering equipment, which attracted the attention of all parties and became the focus of local media reports. According to reports, with the start of the project, Sany will further give full play to the advantages of the international industrial chain and deliver more high-quality services for the construction party China Communications Construction.

Over the years, Sany and CCCC have maintained a strategic cooperative relationship. Sany has focused on participating in key projects such as the second phase of the KKH Highway project in Pakistan, the Cayo Port Project in Angola, and the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway Project in Kenya. Among them, 108 pieces of equipment of Sany Heavy Industry participated in the construction of the whole line of the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway Project. In 2017, CCCC rated domestic equipment suppliers for the first time, and Sany was successfully selected as one of the first four Class A equipment suppliers.

Sany has long been deeply involved in the construction of Malaysia

Sany entered the Malaysian market in 2007, and after nearly ten years of operation, Sany's sales in Malaysia have reached 800 million yuan. During this period, he participated in the construction of key projects such as Malaysia's second airport and *5656 Dagang Port Klang, and established a good brand image in the local area.

In addition to traditional engineering equipment, Sany has also made significant progress in the field of housing industrialization in Malaysia in recent years. On March 21, 2017, Sany Construction officially laid the foundation stone for its first prefabricated parts factory in Malaysia in Terengganu, which is equipped with advanced production equipment and will produce 50,000 cubic meters of concrete per year.

With the deepening of Sany's participation in Malaysia's economic construction, the in-depth exchanges and interactions between the two sides have also been further strengthened. On January 11 this year, Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Zahid visited Sany with a delegation of local enterprises, and the two sides reached an agreement on the development and cooperation in the fields of local housing, new energy, ports, education, equipment manufacturing and financial services, and signed a strategic memorandum on the construction of about 50,000 housing units on the spot.
