The largest onshore shale oil long horizontal well platform in Asia was completed

On June 25, 31 horizontal wells deployed on the Hua H100 platform, the largest onshore shale oil long horizontal well platform in Asia, were completed ahead of schedule. Compared with conventional wells, the oil production capacity of the platform has increased by more than 10 times, the area has been reduced by more than 60%, and the controlled reserves are 10 million tons, so as to realize the development of underground reserves as much as possible with the least amount of land. This is a powerful practice of Changqing Oilfield to implement the new development concept and promote the intensive and economical use of land with a new model of shale oil development.

Located in Longdong, Gansu Province, a national shale oil demonstration zone, it is located in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River Basin, and water and land resources are in short supply. Changqing Oilfield practices the concept of green environmental protection, adopts the integrated innovation of Party A and Party B, and makes revolutionary innovations from platform design to three-dimensional drilling, integrated fracturing, personnel organization structure, etc., and has created a shale oil development road with Changqing characteristics. This will provide an effective solution for the next step of effectively using the large shale oil field of over 1 billion tons in Longdong.

According to Wu Zhiyu, a senior expert of Changqing Oilfield, the Hua H100 platform only occupies 30 acres of land on the ground, but the actual underground mining reservoir radiation area is as high as more than 40,000 acres. "Under the traditional model, more than 3,000 wells need to be drilled to build a million-ton oilfield, but now only 10 to 15 such horizontal well platforms need to be built, and the saving land can reach 1,400 acres, which is equivalent to the area of 130 football fields." What is particularly unique is that the platform breaks the traditional model of one team and one machine, adopts one team of five machines, integrates the design of equipment and personnel, and shares resources and support to maximize efficiency. This platform has set 18 records, including the shortest drilling period of 7.75 days for horizontal wells, and completed a total footage of 150,000 meters, with a speed increase of 42%.

"On this platform, the drilling offset is up to 1,266 meters, and every 300 meters of offset is equivalent to drilling four more wells, not expropriating more land, not redrilling new wells, and returning as many underground resource particles as possible to the warehouse." Wang Yungong, a drilling expert in Chuanqing, said. The platform maximizes land saving, maximizes the number of platform wells, maximizes underground control reserves, and ultimately maximizes production.

Through the effective development of shale oil in the past three years, Changqing Oilfield has carried out 852 wells of various on-site research tests with the goal of improving the production of a single well and reducing the investment cost, and has integrated and innovated to form 18 supporting technologies in five major technical series with "horizontal well + volume fracturing" as the core, and built a million-ton national shale oil development demonstration zone.
