The Engineering Capacity Building Center for Engineers of Excellence was established in South Africa

On March 19, the Engineering Capacity Building Center for Engineers of Excellence was officially launched in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The construction of the Engineering Capacity Building Center for Engineers of Excellence (Johannesburg) is one of the important contents of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the China Association for Science and Technology and the South African Ministry of Science and Innovation witnessed and signed by the heads of state of China and South Africa, and is jointly promoted by the Chinese Consortium of Engineers and Sany Group. Guided by engineering practice and with the goal of improving the continuous career development of engineers, the center has built a platform for the cooperation between the engineering communities of China and South Africa in formulating engineering technology standards, solving engineering and technical problems, and improving the level of engineering capabilities.

On September 2, 2024, witnessed by the heads of state of China and South Africa, the China Association for Science and Technology and the South African Ministry of Science and Innovation signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the China Association for Science and Technology and the South African Ministry of Science and Innovation to deepen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of public participation in science and technology, people-to-people exchanges in science and technology, mutual recognition of engineers, engineering and mathematics education, and women's participation in science and technology.
