At 16:45 on February 4, flight CA1373 from Beijing to Changsha landed at Huanghua Airport. Sany Heavy Industry welcomed a special guest, she was Ms. Huang, who flew from Johannesburg, South Africa to Beijing overnight and then transferred to Changsha non-stop.

She was accompanied by 26,000 N95 medical masks shipped back by "human flesh", which were donated to the Hunan Provincial Red Cross Society when they landed. Chen Danping, executive vice president of the Hunan Provincial Red Cross Society, said excitedly, "This is the first batch of such a large number of high-quality medical masks received by the Provincial Red Cross Society, and I would like to thank Sany for its outstanding help to the people of Hunan!" It is understood that N95 masks were born during the "SARS" period, which has a high degree of protection against respiratory infectious diseases, and is generally only used when doctors diagnose and treat highly contagious diseases. Currently, medical N95 masks are a scarce commodity.

"Human flesh consignment" 26,000 N95 masks

The new crown pneumonia epidemic is raging, and the shortage of medical supplies is very serious. On January 26, Wang Jiangping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the press conference that the demand for medical supplies such as protective clothing and masks is very prominent. On January 28, Sany urgently launched the global medical supplies deployment plan, mobilizing partners and regional teams from 40 countries to search for key medical supplies such as medical-grade protective clothing and masks that are most urgently needed in epidemic areas around the world.

In the past few days, Xiang Wenbo, president of Sany Heavy Industry, has directly commanded Sany headquarters and the global team to give up their rest time and coordinate and promote procurement and transportation across multiple time zones. On the afternoon of January 30, the South African team of Sany Heavy Industry successfully purchased 26,000 N95 medical masks. It takes at least 2-3 days for the materials to be declared at South African Customs, and they are about to face the weekend, and South African Customs and transportation companies are all on holiday. The president of Sany Heavy Industry instructed Wenbo to "ship it back to China as soon as possible regardless of the cost."

In an emergency, all the staff of the Sany South Africa team took the initiative to cancel the weekend, held a meeting to discuss countermeasures, and finally decided to take the "human flesh consignment" method to bring back to China. After communicating with Air China and the Chinese Consulate General in South Africa, we confirmed to take the flight on February 3, and immediately procured suitcases and looked for suitable personnel to check back to China. "We must send the urgently needed 26,000 N95 masks back to China as soon as possible." Wei Jie, general manager of Sany Heavy Industry South Africa, said.

Pay tribute to the most "beautiful" her detour to Changsha!

On February 2, Ms. Huang, a Chinese national doing business in South Africa, contacted the Sany South Africa team and offered to help bring these medical N95 masks back to China. It is understood that Ms. Huang originally wanted to go back to her hometown of Fuzhou, and in order to bring this batch of masks to Changsha, she needed to take an international flight to Beijing overnight, and then transfer to Changsha.

She said, "The pandemic has touched everyone's hearts, and I hope to contribute a little bit of strength. Although my journey home was a bit of a struggle, the most important thing was to get the masks to the frontline medical staff as soon as possible."

On the afternoon of February 2, all employees of Sany South Africa packed 26,000 masks into 25 pieces of luggage according to the airline's requirements. At 10:10 a.m. on February 3, the first batch of 26,000 N95 masks was successfully distributed.

Thank you to Ms. Huang for taking the trouble to transfer many times and bring back 25 huge suitcases by herself! Salute to the most beautiful act under the new crown epidemic!
