At about 6 o'clock on January 22, a landslide occurred in Liangshui Village, Tangfang Town, Zhenxiong County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, causing 18 houses to be buried and 47 people to lose contact. After the disaster, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attached great importance to it and gave important instructions, requiring the rapid organization of rescue forces, all-out search and rescue of missing people, and doing their best to reduce casualties. At the scene of the disaster, the houses of the two villager groups where the landslide occurred were scattered along the mountainside to the foot of the mountain, with a large altitude difference, a large landslide area, and a narrow working face, making search and rescue more difficult.
