General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that it is necessary to intensify efforts to plan and build a new energy supply and consumption system based on large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases, supported by clean, efficient, advanced and energy-saving coal power around them, and supported by stable, safe and reliable UHV transmission and transformation lines. Since the beginning of this year, with the vigorous promotion of a number of major energy projects, the supply capacity of new energy has been continuously enhanced, the level of consumption has continued to improve, and the pace of construction of China's new energy system has continued to accelerate.

At present, many places across the country are ushering in high temperature weather, and although the electricity load continues to rise, the supply and demand of electricity are basically balanced. In the hall of the National Electric Power Dispatching and Control Center, the reporter learned that in this summer's power supply, clean energy such as wind power and photovoltaic accounted for nearly three-thirds, becoming an important guarantee for reliable power supply.

Behind this, it is inseparable from the enhancement of China's new energy supply capacity and the improvement of the level of consumption. From January to May, China's total installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power generation exceeded 800 million kilowatts, and the installed capacity of new energy ranked first in the world. The utilization rate of wind power and photovoltaic power generation reached 96.6% and 98%.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has always attached great importance to China's energy development with an eye to the future and in line with the general trend of global low-carbon energy transformation. Creatively put forward a new strategy for energy security, and personally guided and promoted the energy revolution. He stressed that it is necessary to speed up the planning and construction of a new energy system, put the promotion of new energy and clean energy development in a more prominent position, increase the supply and consumption capacity of new energy, and point out the way forward for the leapfrog development of new energy and renewable energy.

Nowadays, on the map of China, focusing on deserts, Gobi and desert areas, the upper reaches of the Yellow River and the Hexi Corridor are forming new energy bases on seven continents; Relying on abundant offshore wind resources, five offshore wind power base clusters such as the Shandong Peninsula and the Yangtze River Delta are being built; Relying on the hydropower base in the southwest region, the two major water and scenery comprehensive bases in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi, and southeast Tibet are also stepping up construction.

Wang Dapeng, Deputy Director of the New Energy Department of the National Energy Administration: The construction of large-scale new energy bases is the top priority of the development of renewable energy in the 14th Five-Year Plan, and will play the role of "group army" and "main force" in the construction of China's new energy system.

In order to make new energy delivery and use well, since the beginning of this year, the renewable energy regulatory and policy system has been accelerated and improved, and the research on new power systems, energy storage, hydrogen energy and other standard systems has been continuously strengthened, and the construction of new energy consumption system has been promoted in an all-round way from the aspects of policy, technology and mechanism.

Not long ago, the ± 800 kV UHVDC project from Baihetan to Zhejiang was fully put into operation, and the new energy channel increased the transmission capacity to 8 million kilowatts. At present, two energy "air corridors" have been built around the Baihetan Hydropower Station, forming a transmission capacity of 16 million kilowatts, and the clean energy of the Baihetan Hydropower Station can be transmitted on a large scale.

In the first half of this year, three UHV transmission lines in China started. The construction of the first UHV transmission project and the world's highest UHVDC transmission project from the "Shagehuang" wind and photovoltaic base has improved the ability of new energy to be transmitted across regions. Up to now, more than 30 UHV transmission lines in China have been completed and put into operation, and a situation of "west-to-east power transmission and north-south power supply" has been initially formed, with an inter-provincial and inter-regional transmission capacity of more than 300 million kilowatts.

In addition, this year, China has also increased the promotion of energy storage construction. The installed capacity of new energy storage such as lithium-ion battery energy storage and compressed air energy storage continues to grow. At present, more than 8.7 million kilowatts of new energy storage projects have been put into operation across the country.

Tao Ye, Deputy Director of the Renewable Center of the Energy Research Institute of the China Academy of Macroeconomics: With the acceleration of the construction of the new energy supply and consumption system, the green background of China's new energy system has been basically formed, which promotes the transformation of China's main energy from fossil energy to non-fossil energy, and consolidates the foundation of China's energy security.

The latest data shows that at present, China's installed capacity of non-fossil energy power generation accounts for 50.9% of the total installed capacity, which historically exceeds that of fossil energy. The National Energy Administration predicts that the installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic will increase by about 160 million kilowatts this year, the proportion of power generation in the total social electricity consumption will reach 15.3%, and the energy consumption per unit of GDP will be reduced by about 2% year-on-year, making the energy supply safer, greener and more efficient.
