On July 27, China's self-developed core equipment for submarine seismic exploration and acquisition - "Haimai" was officially put into use in the Bohai Sea, marking a key step in China's high-end offshore oil and gas exploration technology, and is of great significance to increase offshore oil and gas exploration efforts and further improve the independent and controllable offshore oil and gas exploration equipment system.
Seabed seismic exploration is a rapidly emerging offshore oil and gas exploration technology in recent years, which can greatly improve the accuracy of oil and gas exploration and development. "Haimai" is a node mode seismic exploration and acquisition equipment independently developed and manufactured in China. It overcomes technologies such as high-sensitivity geophones and ultra-low noise acquisition circuits, greatly improves the detection ability of weak signals, and can capture seismic wave signals equivalent to 1/150 of the size of mosquito flight sound in 10,000-meter formation, and depict high-definition oil and gas reservoir data information accordingly.

"Haimai" has the characteristics of small size, flexible deployment, wide range of water depth, and high ultra-low frequency performance, and can see oil and gas reservoirs buried thousands of meters deep like "clairvoyance".
Thousands of "sea veins" are regularly placed at designated locations on the seabed through professional retraction and release equipment, receive seismic wave signals reflected from the seabed formation, store them in the form of data, and recover them after the operation is completed, download and analyze the collected data information, and then process them into seismic profiles to achieve accurate "veins" of the formation.
The person in charge of the Geophysical Prospecting Division of CNOOC said that the successful application of "Haimai" will help to obtain more clear and accurate information about oil and gas reservoirs under deeper formations and complex geological structures, and will provide strong technical support for China's accurate exploration of offshore oil and gas.

As a key technical equipment for collecting information on seabed reservoirs, China's seabed seismic exploration node acquisition equipment has long relied on imports, and the equipment technology with a water depth of more than 300 meters is strictly restricted, which seriously restricts the process of offshore oil and gas exploration and development in China. As the key core equipment for offshore oil and gas exploration and development, the operation of "Haimai" can meet the needs of seabed seismic exploration in major sea areas of China, and will further improve the exploration accuracy of offshore oil and gas reservoirs and the dynamic monitoring level of seabed reservoirs in mature oilfields.
