In the third quarter, China's new projects gradually increased, the total working hours of construction machinery in the country increased steadily, and the operating rate of many provinces continued to grow. Road traffic construction is active, and the total working hours and operating rates of pavers and rollers are both increasing.

In the third quarter, the average operating rate of construction machinery in the country was 50.27%, which continued to improve steadily. The total working hours in the country continued to increase for four consecutive months (June to September), with a cumulative increase of 7.52%.

In the third quarter, the top 10 provinces in terms of comprehensive operating rate were: Zhejiang, Anhui, Hainan, Jiangxi, Hubei, Jilin, Fujian, Qinghai, Heilongjiang and Guangdong.

Among them, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hainan and Hubei provinces have dominated the top 10 comprehensive operating rates for three consecutive quarters.

In the third quarter, the highest operating rate of all major types of equipment was hoisting equipment, with an average operating rate of 68.00% in the third quarter; This was followed by excavation equipment, with an average operating rate of 52.07% in the third quarter. Their high start-up rates often mean that new or expanded projects are large in number, large in scale, and fast in progress.

Among them, Anhui's hoisting equipment is the busiest, with an average operating rate of 87.88% in the third quarter, far exceeding the national average; Zhejiang's excavation equipment is the first in the country, with an average operating rate of 77.92% in the third quarter, exceeding the national average operating rate of excavation equipment by 25.85 percentage points.

The central machinery boom excavator dominates the list!

In the third quarter, the quarterly comprehensive operating rate of construction machinery in the central region ranked second in the country with 57.70%, of which the quarterly operating rate of excavation equipment was 68.22%, ranking first in the country.

The western region has vigorously promoted the construction of a new land-sea corridor in the western region, deeply integrated into the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", and the growth of foreign trade in the western region continued to accelerate in the third quarter. The western region's exports of high-tech products, special equipment, high-end equipment, biomedicine, and medical equipment have all achieved high-speed growth.

In September, the operating rate of port equipment in the western region was 54.03%, a year-on-year increase of 3.64%. Qinghai's reach stacker workload increased by 56.04% year-on-year in September, ranking first in the country. Chongqing's reachstacker workload increased by 29.48% year-on-year in September, ranking third in the country.

National Day Harvest!

The operating rate of construction machinery has soared, and the construction boom has fueled the Golden Week!

During the National Day, Hubei tourism orders increased by 7% year-on-year; Henan Province received 79,916,000 tourists, carried out 10,300 activities, and earned 56.59 billion yuan in tourism revenue, while Shaanxi Province received 46,014,600 domestic tourists and spent 35.008 billion yuan on domestic tourists, both reaching a record high in the same period in history.

While the tourism consumption of these provinces has increased, it has also led to the development of a series of local engineering construction and maintenance projects. Compared with the data in 2023, the top five year-on-year growth rates of construction machinery in all provinces during the National Day in 2024 are Hubei, Henan, Shaanxi, Qinghai and Gansu, with an increase of 13.87%, 9.35%, 8.14%, 5.49% and 4.32% respectively.
