In May 2015, China officially released the "Made in China 2025" strategic plan, which marks that China will fully implement the strategy of manufacturing power and officially open the curtain of intelligent manufacturing industry construction. Through the implementation of intelligent manufacturing, China's manufacturing industry will be able to adjust the structure, specialize in the way, improve efficiency, and achieve mass production and digital manufacturing. In 2017, we need to continue to deepen our thinking about the future of China's manufacturing, and we want to turn the manufacturing industry into an intelligent, green, integrated, service, and long-term manufacturing industry.

Original intention: to make China's manufacturing industry smarter

After the release of the "Made in China 2025" strategic plan, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology began to prepare 11 supporting plans at the beginning of 2016, including five major project implementation plans, four special plans and two action plans, aiming to plan the next 3~5 years of intelligent manufacturing. These plans are formulated according to China's specific national conditions, with a strong pertinence, and play a very key role in the future development of China's manufacturing industry. At present, these plans have begun to be implemented gradually. That is to say, when we study intelligent manufacturing, we must always make China's manufacturing industry more intelligent according to the actual situation of our country.

What is China's strategic path in the next decade? In fact, this strategic path can be summed up as that we should take innovation as the driving force, lay a solid foundation, and achieve high-quality manufacturing, and at the same time, take intelligent manufacturing as the main direction of attack, and take green manufacturing and service manufacturing as the flank. Only in this way will it be possible for us to take a solid step from big to strong in this decade.

Path: Optimize the allocation of manufacturing resources

Today's manufacturing has changed a lot compared to 20 years ago. Whether it is products or equipment, whether it is R&D or production, whether it is management or service, all kinds of systems of enterprises are becoming more and more complex. Complex systems bring more uncertainty. Uncertainty has led to a variety of problems, not least the difficulty of adapting to today's customization needs.

Adapting to the internal and external uncertainties of complex systems and optimizing the allocation of manufacturing resources according to working conditions* is an important indicator to measure whether an enterprise's R&D and production system is "intelligent". In this way, intelligent manufacturing is actually a manufacturing paradigm based on the data closed loop built by CPS (cyber physical system) technology, which eliminates the uncertainty of complex systems with the automatic flow of data formed by software, and optimizes the allocation of resources at a given time and target scenario. The intelligent manufacturing system will guide the manufacturing paradigm of enterprises to gradually shift from modern manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing, in order to bring higher product quality, production efficiency and customer experience satisfaction to enterprises, and lower comprehensive costs.

Opportunity: The construction machinery industry is in a period of recovery at the bottom

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the "Intelligent Manufacturing Development Plan (2016-2020)", proposing that by 2025, the implementation of the "two-step" strategy will be promoted for intelligent manufacturing. The national strategic support and the optimization and upgrading of the industry itself have brought benefits to the emerging machinery industry such as intelligent manufacturing. Coupled with the impact of environmental factors such as economic recovery and industry cycle development rotation, the intelligent manufacturing industry is expected to usher in rapid development in 2017.

How to supply sufficient and suitable talents to meet the "rigid needs" of a large number of talents is probably an urgent problem.

Put simply, smart manufacturing is about connecting people, data, and machines. It can be seen that innovative talents are the key link in the industrial chain of intelligent manufacturing - the first of the four elements of intelligent manufacturing: intelligent people, the Internet has evolved from a two-dimensional Internet world to a three-dimensional virtual world, and the most important role is human intellectual resources. Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, also said that the development of intelligent manufacturing should be carried out in an overall and systematic manner from various aspects such as talent training, concept renewal, equipment progress, process improvement, network support, and environmental safety.
