Balfour Betty and Jones Brothers Civil Engineering are two UK-based engineering firms. They are currently using Sany SCC6300 crawler cranes to participate in the construction of the Glasling Viaduct in the A487 project in Wales.
SCC6300*5655 has a lifting capacity of 630 tons and a boom length of 84 meters, provided by the Belgian company Sarens Rental.
It is reported that in this project, it will be responsible for the installation of nine 50-meter-long steel girders for the viaduct. The 140-metre-long viaduct features three piers that run parallel to the Welsh Coast Railway Viaduct and sits across the famous Glaslyn River in Wales. When completed, it will be a major transportation artery connecting the three cities of Persia Madog, Trimadag and Minford.
Windaniel, Project Partnership Manager, said: "The construction of the Grasslin Viaduct was a challenging and exciting part of the whole project. "SCC6300 from the moment they arrived at the construction site, they attracted all sorts of local attention. It is certain that in the coming weeks, this giant crawler crane will become a unique feature of the region.
Daniel explained that installing the viaduct required a lot of preparation. "The underwater work has been underway for a few months, and when the steel beams are in place, they need to be connected with small cranes."
According to the data, the project is only part of the Welsh government road construction project, and it is reported that the project will require the construction of a total of eight bridges, with the aim of improving the environment and traffic congestion in Wales. The project cost around £35 million and is currently the largest project in the region*5655. (Translation: Kazuo Zeng Zheng)
