President Nicolas Maduro meets with a delegation of Chinese companies

Caracas, People's Daily Online, August 7 (Reporter Wu Zhihua) President Nicolas Maduro met with a delegation of Chinese enterprises that were visiting the Presidential Palace on the evening of the 6th local time. Present at the meeting were Torres, vice chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance, Mélentes, vice chairman of the Council of Ministers and minister of planning, and Zhao Bentang, Chinese ambassador to the People's Republic of China.

During the meeting, President Nicolas Maduro said that there are favorable conditions to advance many cooperation projects between Venezuela and China. With the support of China and other friendly countries, we will promote the development of the national economy.

President Maduro said that the domestic market has grown over the years, and people have stable jobs, the right to education, the right to housing and the right to health care. * Importantly, it is an independent and sovereign state. President Maduro accused the world of someone trying to destabilize and prevent social change. He stressed that the economic model of the past benefited only 20 percent of the population, and that foreign exchange earnings generated by oil were deposited in foreign accounts. Now, "taxes and wealth are used to increase the purchasing power of the people through a rational distribution model".

Liang Wengen, head of the Chinese business delegation and chairman of Sany Group, said at the meeting that "Chinese companies not only want to become business partners, but also want to become builders of this great country." He pointed out that the development and progress of the country and the continuous improvement of the people's living standards will inevitably bring about shortages. The shortage means that there is huge room for growth in the country. Chinese enterprises have experienced China's material shortage, and have also achieved great development and accumulated stronger strength in the process of solving China's material shortage. He said that "Chinese enterprises are willing to contribute their own strength to solve the supply shortage, and are willing to share technology, experience and investment with the people", and hope to establish their own strong industrial system to solve the supply shortage problem as soon as possible.

The delegation of Chinese enterprises is composed of 11 enterprises, including Sany Group, China National Heavy Duty Truck, Qingdao Taikaiying Tire Company, China Paper Corporation, and Yuan Longping Agricultural Science and Technology Company.

This week, the delegation of Chinese enterprises held working talks with relevant government departments in Caracas, and the two sides deliberated and inspected cooperation projects in the fields of oil and gas, steel and aluminum mines, tires, machinery and equipment, heavy trucks, food, agricultural science and technology, paper and finance.
