On the morning of August 15, local time, the first SY215CKD excavator produced by Sany Indonesia's "lighthouse factory" rolled off the production line, marking the completion and commissioning of the first overseas "lighthouse factory" in China's construction machinery industry, opening a new chapter in Sany overseas intelligent manufacturing.

Sany Indonesia's "Lighthouse Factory" is located in the Indonesian KIM Industrial Park, 70 kilometers away from the capital Jakarta. The project covers an area of 100,000 m², with a total investment of 200 million yuan, mainly producing 13-55 ton excavators for the Southeast Asian market, with an annual production capacity of 3,000 units in the first phase.

The "lighthouse factory" began the installation and commissioning of the first batch of equipment in July this year, and it took only 30 days to achieve the first "Made In Indonesia" off the production line, creating Sany speed.

Walking into the factory, the robot arm waves, the AGV trolley moves quickly between the production line and the vertical warehouse, and the production area of nearly 10,000 square meters is highly coordinated. At present, the factory has initially realized the full network connection and unmanned production of 12 main processes such as assembly, logistics, and commissioning, which is the first time for Chinese enterprises to make overseas manufacturing.

"Sany is the 'smartest' Chinese construction machinery company, and this factory integrates the core achievements of Sany in more than 40 'lighthouse factories' in China," said Ding Shifeng, the project leader, "This is the first overseas manufacturing base of Chinese construction machinery to be built in full accordance with Industry 4.0 standards."

At present, the factory has more than 500 robots of various types, and there are only more than 100 workers, with a planned per capita output value of 11 million yuan, which is one of the most intelligent, per capita output value and "smartest" overseas factories in China's construction machinery.

This is the first overseas "lighthouse factory" in the domestic industry, and it is also the first overseas export of intelligent manufacturing standards in China's construction machinery industry.

Compared with overseas bases such as the United States, Germany, India and Pakistan, Indonesia's "lighthouse factory" is led by Sany for the first time from design and planning, to factory construction and equipment commissioning, to the current overall operation and management.

Industrial software is the brain of intelligent manufacturing. Ding Shifeng introduced that 20 sets of digital software systems such as IMOM, WMS, and digital central control have been applied in Indonesia's "lighthouse factory", all of which are developed by Sany Group and domestic industrial Internet company Shugen Internet, with 100% independent intellectual property rights. "This is also the first case in the advanced production capacity of Chinese enterprises going overseas."

At the same time, the industrial big data collected by nearly 1,000 collection points in Indonesia's "lighthouse factory" spans more than 3,000 kilometers, and is interconnected with the domestic Sany Global Production Control Center and the Root Internet "Root Cloud" platform in real time to match the strongest computing power for each process, each model, and even each tool to optimize the production cycle.

"From industrial software and every data, down to production equipment and every screw, Indonesia's 'lighthouse factory' is fully implemented with reference to Chinese standards," Ding Shifeng said, "This is the first overseas systematic output of intelligent manufacturing in China's construction machinery industry."

10 more international "lighthouse factories" will be built in the future

Not long ago, in the annual "50 Smart Companies" released by the international authoritative technology media "MIT Science and Technology Review", Sany Heavy Industry became the only company on the list in China's construction machinery industry.

From the earliest overseas investment and factory construction in China in 2007 to the first "lighthouse factory" built overseas in China in 2022, Sany, which is now at the forefront of the industry in terms of digital intelligence and internationalization, is realizing the transformation from entrepreneur to innovator, from follower to leader.

"I used to focus on overseas sales, but now I focus on overseas manufacturing, especially intelligent manufacturing." At the opening ceremony, Ding Shifeng said that this is a successful practice of Sany's concept of "self-oriented, local operation, service first", which is of great significance for enhancing the global influence of Sany brand and strengthening the service quality in Southeast Asia.

"The small step taken by the Indonesian factory today is a big step for Sany Overseas Manufacturing." Ding Shifeng introduced, "The Indonesian model is the first attempt by Sany to dominate the overseas 'lighthouse factory', which is of far-reaching significance. In the future, Sany will use this 'lighthouse factory' as a template and blueprint to quickly promote and replicate it within the company and build 10 more international 'lighthouse factories'."
