Africa's first single and largest photovoltaic storage and firewood mine microgrid project completed the first grid connection!

On December 29, Sany Silicon Energy's milestone in the field of overseas "photovoltaic + energy storage + diesel" microgrid power generation--- Zambia Ruida mine photovoltaic energy storage microgrid power generation project completed the first grid connection, announcing that Africa's first and largest single photovoltaic storage diesel mine microgrid project was put into operation. This symbolizes that Sany Silicon Energy has achieved remarkable results in promoting Africa's green energy transition and sustainable development, and has officially taken an important step in the field of China-Africa new energy cooperation.




As the largest mine microgrid project in Africa, the project is equipped with a 13MWp photovoltaic system and an energy storage battery system with a total capacity of 39MWh, and is equipped with a diesel-powered system as a backup power source to build an advanced microgrid integrated energy system integrating photovoltaic, energy storage and diesel-power. It aims to ensure the stable and reliable power supply of the mining area, achieve energy self-sufficiency, effectively reduce the dependence on traditional energy, and improve energy efficiency and sustainability.


In this project, Sany Silicon Energy Green Energy Co., Ltd. has been taking "Sany speed" as the benchmark throughout, and is responsible for the overall development, design, construction and delivery of the project. From the signing of the PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) to the completion of the project, it took only 4 months. In the face of Zambia's complex geographical environment and climatic conditions, as well as the transportation of materials caused by lagging infrastructure construction, under the personal coordination of Mr. Dai Qinghua, Chairman of Silicon Energy, the Sany Silicon Energy project team quickly formulated a detailed and flexible construction plan, raced against time to carry out key construction links, and compressed the construction period to the greatest extent under the premise of strictly ensuring the quality of the project. This series of swift and orderly actions fully demonstrates Sany Silicon's excellent ability in project management and execution.


The grid connection of this project also officially opened a new chapter in the energy practice of Sany Silicon Energy in Africa, and laid a solid foundation for the future development of green energy in Africa.
