Recently, Sany Renewable Energy successfully won the bid for the Jieyang Shibeishan Wind Power Project of Guangdong Energy Group, which plans to use 14 offshore wind turbines with a single capacity of 13.6MW and 1 unit of 10MW. This project is the first order for the mass commercialization of offshore wind turbines in the large megawatt era of Sany Renewable Energy, marking the official opening of a new era of offshore wind power and onshore wind power.
Based on the accumulation of experience in the field of onshore wind power, Sany Renewable Energy has sharpened its sword for ten years and built 12. X~16.X MW offshore and onshore platform series, covering a variety of application scenarios of medium and high wind speed on sea and land. In 2024, the first 15 MW wind turbine of the offshore and land platform will be successfully hoisted and connected to the grid at the Tongyu Experimental Wind Farm in Jilin. Since then, with the yearning for that deep blue, Sany Renewable Energy has officially sounded the clarion call to enter the offshore wind power market.

Sany Renewable Energy's "offshore wind power" milestone
The Jieyang Shibeishan Wind Power Project, which won the bid, is located in the coastal area of Jinghai Town, Huilai County, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province.

Jieyang is located in the east of Guangdong, known as the "seaside Zoulu", located at the confluence of the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea, Jieyang is like standing in the "tuyere" of Guangdong, the superior geographical environment has endowed Jieyang with rich wind energy resources, especially the annual average wind speed along the coast of Huilai County can reach more than 8m/s, which belongs to a class of wind speed areas in China's sea, exceeding the national average, and often facing the invasion of typhoons. The combination of these factors makes the units used in the project need to have excellent ability to cope with offshore wind conditions.
The 13.6 MW offshore wind turbine used in the Jieyang Shibeishan project is an anti-platform product tailored by Sany Renewable Energy for its 12.X~16.X MW offshore and land platforms, with a design life extended to 25~30 years and a maximum wind speed equivalent to a 17-level typhoon. With the help of the design of the same platform on sea and land, the experience of a series of products on the same platform can be transferred and replicated, and the "inferences" from one case to another in R&D verification, manufacturing operation and maintenance and other links can achieve the effect of 1+1>2.

Pre-"double prototype" verification to shape reliable genes
Based on the pre-prediction of complex offshore working conditions, in order to ensure the safety and reliability of the whole life cycle of the unit, Sany Renewable Energy has established a "double prototype verification" mode, relying on the synchronous joint test of the indoor test bench and the test wind farm to comprehensively verify the overall performance and durability of the unit, and shape the reliability gene from the source.

Before the official installation of each prototype, it has to go through a "devil training" on the world's largest 35 MW six-degree-of-freedom test bench of Sany Renewable Energy to forge its strong physique. The six-degree-of-freedom loading unit of the test bench can simulate extremely complex working conditions far beyond the realistic environment, pull the multi-angle limit of the unit under test, explore the technical boundary and physical limit, and eliminate the uncertainty factors that affect the future operation safety of the unit in advance.
Only wind turbines that have passed the verification level on the test bench are eligible to be installed in the test wind farm and enter the next round of on-hook operation tests. In the test wind farm, the test prototype will carry out nearly 2,000 performance tests to fully verify the reliability of the components and the whole machine under actual working conditions.It is these seemingly cumbersome and overly strict test procedures that give Sany Renewable Energy wind turbines the confidence to remain calm in harsh environments.

"Replace small with big" upgrading and transformation benefits doubled
Guangdong Huilai Shibeishan project was one of the first batch of national concession bidding projects, the original wind farm was put into operation in 2007 and connected to the grid for power generation, using 167 wind turbines with a single capacity of 0.6 MW, with a total installed capacity of 100.2MW, has been in operation for more than 18 years, witnessing the glorious history of China's wind power from scratch to vigorous development.
This time, in response to the call of the national policy for the transformation and upgrading of old wind farms, Guangdong Energy Group carried out the upgrading and transformation of the Shibeishan project by "replacing the small with the large", replacing the old with the new, and adopting 15 large megawatt models with a single capacity of 10MW-13.6MW of Sany Renewable Energy, while doubling the total capacity, saving about 6 hectares of land resources, and increasing the annual equivalent full generation hours by about 1,000 hours, so as to achieve both social, ecological and economic benefits.
