On November 22, on the occasion of a state visit to the Republic of Chile, President Xi Jinping published a signed article entitled "Jointly Creating a Better Future for China-Chile Relations" in Chile's "Courier". In the 2010 world-renowned Chilean mining disaster rescue operation, Chinese machinery and equipment manufacturing enterprises actively participated and contributed to the rescue of 33 miners.

Which is the "Chinese engineering equipment" mentioned by the general secretary?

Back in 2010, a mining disaster rescue brought Chile to the spotlight of the world, not only China's national attention, but also the attention of the global media.

On August 5, 2010, a mining accident occurred at the San Jose copper mine in Chile, and 33 miners were trapped underground at a depth of more than 700 meters. After 69 days, on October 14, the miners were rescued by a "multinational force" led by the Chilean government and aided by countries around the world, setting a "world miracle" with the longest time trapped underground, the deepest trap and the successful survival.

The only Asian equipment at the scene that participated in the rescue was the "Chinese machinery and equipment manufacturing enterprise" praised by Xi Da in his signed article: the SCC4000 track provided by Sany Heavy Industrycrane。

The SCC4000 crawler crane is independently developed by Sany Heavy Industry and is known as "the first crane in China". The equipment was unveiled in Chile's rescue and was called "Made in China" by foreign media.

Hao Heng, a Sany service engineer responsible for the maintenance and service of the station, accompanied the team to the mining disaster site to assist in the rescue, he was the only Asian face in the rescue team, affectionately known as "rescue brother" by the media.

Sany SCC4000 crawler cranes participating in the rescue mission are at the world's advanced level in terms of electronic control, force limit system, hydraulic device, etc. It lifted 400 tons and was the largest crawler crane exported from China to South America at that time. At that time, it had just finished the lifting task of the construction of two major thermal power plants in Chile, and also participated in the lifting of large-scale wind power projects in the country, and the work performance was very stable. The product was put into use in February 2009 and has been running stably for 1,800 hours until the mine disaster.

When formulating the rescue plan, the Chilean government planned to open up a rescue channel, and then use ground take-off and landing equipment to transport a "capsule" carrying warehouse underground, and "lift" the trapped people back to the ground in batches. This 700-meter-long life channel puts forward strict requirements for the stability of lifting equipment, and any "accident" will bring unbearable catastrophic consequences.
