Wind Energy Committee CWEA
Recently, the Wind and Solar Energy Center of the China Meteorological Administration released the "2022 China Wind and Solar Resources Annual Communiqué". The communiqué monitors, evaluates and comprehensively analyzes the national wind and solar energy resources in 2022 and the changes relative to the average resources in the past 10 years and 30 years. The communiqué will help the renewable energy industry accurately grasp the resource situation, provide decision-making support for the evaluation of wind and solar power generation benefits and the efficient utilization of new energy, and help the green and low-carbon transformation of energy and the realization of the vision of the "dual carbon" goal.
In terms of wind energy resources: According to the Communiqué, in 2022, wind energy resources at a height of 70 meters in most of the Sanbei region and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau will be better, which is conducive to wind power generation.

In 2022, the wind energy resources at the commonly installed height of 70-meter wind turbines in the eastern part of Northeast China, the central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia, the northern and eastern parts of Xinjiang, the western and northern parts of Gansu, and most of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are better, which is conducive to wind power generation.
However, compared with the past 10 years (2012-2021), the national wind energy resources in 2022 are slightly smaller than normal. The annual average wind speed at 10 meters is 0.82% lower than that in the last 10 years.

In terms of solar energy resources, in 2022, China's solar energy resources will vary greatly from region to region, with the western region being larger than the central and eastern regions, the plateau and dry areas with little rainfall, and the plains and rainy and humid areas being smaller.
In 2022, the national average annual total irradiation of the horizontal plane is about 1563.4 kWh/m². It is the highest value in the past 30 years, 3% larger than the average of the past 30 years (1992 to 2021), 3.6% larger than the average of the last 10 years, and 4.7% larger than the average of 2021. The total irradiation of the best slope of the national average photovoltaic power generation is about 1815.8 kWh/square meter, which is 2.3% larger than that in the past 30 years, 2.9% larger than the last 10 years, and 3.8% larger than that in 2021.
