The reporter was informed that in May this year, Sany in the United States Peachtree City, Georgia R & D manufacturing center will be officially put into operation, which means that the company's exhibition is also as an authentic American company to show itself, Sany Heavy Industry's construction machinery has changed from made in China to "made in the United States".
"In 2012, Sany Group's sales will exceed 100 billion, of which overseas markets will account for 35%~40%." During the exhibition, Xiang Wenbo, president of Sany Heavy Industry, revealed in an exclusive interview with a reporter from the Securities Times.
The American project has been produced in small batches
The reporter learned that after investing 60 million US dollars in the Indian market for the construction of two production bases in the north and south, on September 12, 2007, Sany Heavy Industry and the government of Georgia officially signed an agreement to invest 60 million US dollars in the construction of construction machinery research and development and manufacturing bases. According to the agreement, Sany will acquire 1,600 acres of land in Peachtree, Georgia, USA for the construction of Sany R&D center and manufacturing center in the United States, produce and sell Sany products, and radiate the Canadian and Mexican markets through the base, which plans to achieve a production capacity of about 500 million US dollars in five years.
Xiang Wenbo told reporters that the infrastructure project of Sany Georgia R&D and manufacturing center has been officially launched on June 18, 2010, and the first phase of the project has been completed, with a new assembly workshop area of 38,000 square meters and nearly 6,000 square meters of office buildings have been completed.
It is reported that as Sany's first R&D and manufacturing base in North America, its main functions are truss boom crawler cranes, all-terrain cranes, concrete pump trucks, hydraulic excavators, motor graders, reach stackers, container trucks andRotary drilling rigsR&D, marketing, manufacturing and installation. After the completion of the construction, the assembly workshop mainly produces crawler cranes, rough terrain cranes, excavators, motor graders and pump truck products.
At present, Sany USA has 108 employees, of which about 70% are local employees. There are 60 R&D personnel, most of whom are from internationally renowned research institutions, including *5660 users in the industry, and most of the products for the North American market have been successfully developed, and some have entered small batch production.
Sany's "Third Venture"
"Internationalization should first consider localization. Localization is the foundation of internationalization, including the localization of products and talents, and even the localization of production and operation systems. When talking about the lessons learned from Sany's overseas development, Xiang Wenbo repeatedly emphasized localization. He said that especially in the construction machinery industry, customers in different regions have different preferences and different requirements for equipment. He said: "Internationalization is a tough battle that must be fought, and Sany regards it as its third venture. "Sany Group's first two ventures were corporate start-ups and stock listings.
As the third venture, Sany Internationalization has gone through three stages: the export stage in 2002~2005, the overseas investment stage in 2006~2009 and the localization stage in 2009. In the *5656 stage, Sany started from the first export of 4 PQ190 motor graders to India and Morocco, and later exported the products to 115 countries and regions in batches, with an annual export volume of 523 million US dollars; In the third stage, the Indian factory was officially put into operation, and the one-stop localization global development path of investment, design, production and sales began.
Xiang Wenbo said that in order to take the road of entrepreneurship for the third time, Sany has made full preparations. First of all, the establishment of M* brand, Sany has set many strict standards for itself, in production, technology, quality inspection, environmental protection, service, etc. The second is to establish an international marketing network, now Sany has 30 overseas subsidiaries, and has built 15 logistics centers around the world; This was followed by the establishment of an international technology R&D network, with extensive R&D institutions in China and developed countries such as the United States, Germany, and Japan.
