On May 13, the first vocational education "doctoral class" in Hunan Province was opened in Hunan Sany Industrial Vocational and Technical College (hereinafter referred to as "Sany Institute of Technology"). Why do vocational colleges offer "doctoral programs"?

Professor Luo Zhendong is a Ph.D. (postdoctoral fellow) at the University of Science and Technology of China, and he has published 5 papers and 236 papers (including 124 SCI papers). Before coming to Trinity Institute of Technology, he was a doctoral supervisor in undergraduate colleges.


"I can concentrate on scientific research here", on May 12, talking about the choice of coming to Trinity Vocational College, Luo Zhendong said. He said that in the past 15 years, he has mainly researched and explored in the field of scientific and engineering computing, and has proposed some leading high-efficiency algorithms, which have also been experimented and calculated. Algorithms are the foundation of automation, and Luo Zhendong hopes to be able to promote and apply these algorithms before he retires. Sany Institute of Technology is run by Sany Group Enterprise, and has a training base and facilities and equipment that closely connect with the enterprise, which is also one of the keys to the school and Luo Zhendong to hit it off.


Now, Luo Zhendong, who is more than a year old, is full of enthusiasm for work, not only teaching mathematics classes to higher vocational students, but also in the more than seven months since he came to Trinity Institute of Technology, he has been researching non-stop, and three papers have been included in SCI. Luo Zhendong also wants to write another book, study lattice algorithms, and continue to explore more efficient algorithms, which can be popularized and applied.

As one of the two doctoral supervisors introduced by Trinity Institute of Technology, Professor Cai Kangwei is a native of Hunan. When he returned to his hometown this time, he took the initiative to contact the school by email.


Cai Dangwei is an expert who enjoys special government allowances from the State Council. In the past ten years, he has been doing research on construction machinery innovation, and there are also some research results that he wants to transform. After learning about Trinity Institute of Technology, he thought it was a good fit for his research field and needs.


At present, Cai Kangwei is teaching in the School of Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and has two SCI papers in more than seven months, and is applying for seven or eight invention patents.


At the beginning of his employment, Cai was also worried: "In the past, many doctoral and master's students worked with me, and I didn't know if I could form a team to assist me. But this concern was quickly dispelled, as the school quickly formed a research team, with 10 outstanding graduate degree teachers joining the team. In Cai Kangwei's eyes, compared with students who will leave after graduation, this team of teachers is more stable.


Now, Cai Kangwei focuses on the problem of oil leakage and high cost when using hydraulic system in construction machinery, and is studying the replacement of hydraulic system with electric numerical control. "If it can be done well, it will bring great changes to the construction machinery industry", Cai said with great expectations.


Dr. Tsinghua devotes himself to cultivating "digital blue-collar workers"




A Ph.D. from Tsinghua University is a conspicuous label on Yang Xiaoyong. He has a bachelor's degree, a master's degree and a erudite degree in construction machinery, mainly in the direction of mechanical lubrication. After graduating from Tsinghua University with a Ph.D. in 2015, he has worked and started his own business. In April 2021, he joined Trinity Institute of Technology.


Yang Xiaoyong admitted frankly that after the choice to join the vocational school was made, he heard doubts and puzzled voices, thinking that he was "overkill in local vocational colleges". But he believes: "It's just a different choice in life." ”

In just one year, Trinity Institute of Technology has recruited 26 professors, 19 doctors, hundreds of master's graduates, and outstanding young people, and currently has 28 professors and 58 associate professors, including 20 doctors.
