Nyingchi, Tibet, July 19 (Xinhua) -- The groundbreaking ceremony of the lower reaches of the Brahmaputra River hydropower project was held in Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region on the morning of July 19. Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, attended the groundbreaking ceremony and announced the official start of the project.

At about 9 o'clock on the same day, the groundbreaking ceremony was held at the dam site of Milin Hydropower Station in Nyingchi City.
