Sany Heavy Industry: Xiang Wenbo inspected Ethiopia to help local economic development

From May 24th to 27th, Xiang Wenbo, President of Sany Heavy Industry, visited Ethiopia with a delegation led by Xu Xiangping, Director of Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce. During the visit, Xiang Wenbo, on behalf of Sany, exchanged views with the senior management of the Ethiopian government on production capacity cooperation, wind power projects, Ethiopia-Hunan Industrial Park and other investment projects. The delegation also visited Sany Adama Wind Farm.

Deepening cooperation The Ethiopian Prime Minister supports Sany's development in the local area

On the same day, Ethiopian Prime Minister Haile Mariam welcomed Xu Xiangping and the delegation. He introduced the current economic development and investment environment in Ethiopia, and welcomed Chinese enterprises with strong innovation and manufacturing capabilities like Sany to invest and develop in Ethiopia. He hoped that Sany could seize the opportunity to deepen the Ethiopian market, use the world's leading equipment manufacturing technology, effectively help the Ethiopian people, and contribute to the economic development of Ethiopia.

Xiang Wenbo is full of expectations for the development in Ethiopia. Xiang Wenbo said that in April this year, Sany's old friend and adviser to the prime minister, Alkabe, also visited Sany, and he was very sure of Sany, and he invited Xiang Wenbo to visit Ethiopia and hoped that Sany would establish closer relations with Ethiopia. This trip is to go to this date. Sany has been developing in Ethiopia for ten years and has established a deep friendship with Ethiopia. Sany not only participated in the construction of the second phase of the Ethiopian Adama wind power project, but also planned to jointly build the Ethiopia-Hunan Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park with the Ethiopian government, the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce and other institutions to accelerate the process of production capacity cooperation between China and Africa.

At present, Sany's global layout has entered a critical stage of intensive cultivation, and Xiang Wenbo specifically mentioned that Sany will plan Ethiopia as a wind power base in Africa, and at the same time will vigorously promote housing industrialization technology in Ethiopia to help solve the livelihood problems of local housing shortage.

Adama Wind Power Station was successfully handed over, and Sany wind power technology was recognized

On May 25, Xiang Wenbo successively accompanied the delegation of the Hunan Department of Commerce led by Director Xu Xiangping and the delegation of the Export-Import Bank of China led by Chairman Hu Xiaolian to visit and inspect the second phase of the Ethiopia Adama wind power project. Just the day before, the wind power project successfully passed the acceptance and was successfully handed over to the Ethiopian power company. This also means that Sany's wind power technology has been recognized by the North African market.

The Adama Wind Power Project is a China Wind Turbine Export*5655 order, and it is also an Ethiopia*5655 Wind Power Project. The project is jointly constructed by Sany Group, CGCOC and PowerChina, and uses a total of 102 Sany wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 153 MW, which solves 20% of the electricity demand of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

In May this year, Prime Minister Hailemariam also inspected the project and personally started the wind turbines. He said that the project has greatly improved the capacity of Ethiopia's wind power construction and promoted Ethiopia's social and economic development, and he is very grateful to the technology from Sany and other Chinese enterprises for their contributions to Ethiopia's social development.

Xiang Wenbo said that the project has effectively driven the transfer of China's wind power production capacity and improved the industrialization level of Ethiopia's green energy industry. Xu Xiangping expressed his appreciation for Sany's continuous efforts to increase internationalization and actively participate in Africa's economic construction.

According to reports, in recent years, Sany Group has closely followed the strategic layout of national production capacity cooperation and increased its efforts to go out along the "Belt and Road". 40% of the equipment produced by Sany Group is exported overseas. Since 2002, Sany * 5,656 sets of equipment have been exported to Morocco, and so far the total number of equipment in Africa has exceeded 12,000 units, and the sales volume has exceeded 10 billion yuan.
