In 2014, Tan Shiwei, a post-90s Hunan guy who had just graduated, joined Sany and became a service engineer. Before he had time to familiarize himself with the environment, he was sent to Daqing Oilfield to complete the installation and commissioning of the workover (two-story platform) manipulator.

Tan Shiwei, who had never traveled far away to learn that he could go on a business trip, was very excited. After saying goodbye to his family, he embarked on a new journey, but he didn't expect this farewell to be a year.

During the debugging process, Tan Shiwei encountered a thorny problem. Because the equipment was stained with sand during lifting and transportation, the screw drive was stuck, and one way was to climb up to the 20-meter second-floor platform for repair. In order not to delay his homework, he climbed up without thinking. The severe cold of the northern winter made high-altitude work even more difficult, but with tenacity, Tan Shiwei successfully completed the repair operation.

In the winter of 2015, Tan Shiwei once again experienced a challenge of extreme cold. At that time, the weather was minus 30°C, and the drilling manipulator needed to cooperate with the drilling rig to complete 20 drilling operations in a short time, and the operation site was on a small island in the middle of a frozen lake, leaving Tan Shiwei with 2 days of installation and commissioning time.

In order to speed up the installation, Tan Shiwei took off his gloves and worked with his bare hands to ensure that the wiring was firm and accurate. After eighteen hours of continuous work, the drilling operation was finally completed within the specified time, and the equipment did not have any failure. When everyone cheered, Tan Shiwei silently put on his gloves, his hands had already been frozen and unconscious.

After arriving in Daqing, Tan Shiwei's daily work and life are inseparable from the well site. Due to the special construction of oilfields and the distance from the urban area, long-term outdoor work is commonplace. With more and more Sany Petroleum equipment in Daqing Oilfield, coupled with the distribution of equipment at intervals of 100-200 kilometers, Tan Shiwei's work radius is getting wider and wider, and it is usually early in the morning when he returns to the dormitory after his busy work.

Tan Shiwei's hard-working and customer-friendly deeds quickly spread in Daqing Downhole Operation Company and Drilling Company No. 2. In March this year, the two sides met with senior management, and the person in charge of the customer unit specifically mentioned that the oilfield is currently facing the problem of difficulty in recruiting workers. Many young people find the work dirty and tired and reluctant to go to the well, "but Sany's automation equipment not only helps us solve the problem, but also allows us to see Sany's pragmatic style and character." Comrade Tan Shiwei has served on the front line for a long time, is diligent and responsible, and has high efficiency in troubleshooting, which has helped us a lot. These words made the leaders, including the general manager of Daqing Oilfield Company, give a thumbs up.

"When I entered the Sany Gate, I was impressed by the eye-catching six big characters 'be a person first and then do things', and I will keep this concept in mind in the future." For the praise, Tan Shiwei humbly said that he just did his job well, and he would work harder in the days to come to live up to everyone's trust.
