Hunan Provincial Government Builds a Platform to Dock International Production Capacity Cooperation, Sany Heavy Industry and Other Enterprises Go to Sea to Build the "African Dream"

On June 27, the "2016 Hunan-Africa International Capacity Cooperation and Cross-border Matchmaking Conference for Industrial and Commercial Enterprises" was held in Changsha, with 37 government departments and 63 enterprises from 21 African countries and more than 300 enterprises in Hunan Province conducting one-on-one negotiations and docking.

At the meeting, Sany Group and Sany Heavy Industry signed two agreements with relevant units, namely the "Operation and Management Agreement of Ethiopia-Hunan Equipment Manufacturing Park" and the "Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation on Cooperation in Investment Projects in Africa and Portuguese-speaking Countries". According to the agreement, in the future, Sany will focus on four major areas: industrial manufacturing, clean energy, large-scale infrastructure, and modern construction, and further deepen international production capacity cooperation with African countries.

This matchmaking meeting is a practical move for Hunan Province to actively respond to the national "Ten Cooperation Plans" strategy for Africa and continuously promote economic and trade cooperation with Africa, aiming to build a platform for Hunan's advantageous industries and enterprises to pragmatically and effectively connect with African needs and markets.

Chen Xiangqun, executive vice governor of Hunan Province, said that at present, African countries are actively planning to promote industrialization and modernization, while China is implementing economic restructuring and industrial transformation and upgrading, and there are broad prospects for cooperation in national production capacity.

Alkabe Okunbe, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, is optimistic about Hunan's equipment manufacturing, hybrid rice and other advantages and characteristic enterprises, he said that these industries have strong international competitiveness, and he hopes to expand business to Ethiopia.

As a typical enterprise in Hunan's equipment manufacturing industry, a representative of Chinese and foreign enterprises, Xiang Wenbo, president of Sany Heavy Industry, made a keynote speech on "New Sany, New Opportunities, New Africa" at the meeting, and he used "African Dream" to describe Sany's development in Africa. Xiang Wenbo believes that Africa has a huge demand for infrastructure construction, which provides a good opportunity for Sany and other Chinese equipment enterprises, and Sany hopes to strengthen cooperation with African countries in new fields such as housing industrialization, new energy, port machinery, etc., and contribute to improving the local economy, industrialization level and people's living standards in an all-round and multi-level way.

At the same time, Xiang Wenbo said that Sany hopes not only to export its products to Africa, but also to invest in construction in Africa, help achieve localized manufacturing, and contribute to improving the local economic foundation, establishing a sound industrial system, solving employment, increasing tax revenue, and cultivating professional talents.

Two important agreements were signed to deepen international cooperation in production capacity

At the meeting on the same day, Sany Group signed the "Operation and Management Agreement of Ethiopia Hunan Equipment Manufacturing Park" with the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, Ethiopia Industrial Park Development Company, Ethiopia Investment Commission, Changsha Economic Development Zone Group, and CGCO. At the same time, Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., China-Africa Development Fund and China Development Bank Hunan Branch signed the "Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation on Cooperation in Investment Projects in Africa and Portuguese-speaking Countries". This also means that the production capacity cooperation between Sany and African countries will be further deepened and closer.

According to the Agreement on the Operation and Management of Ethiopia-Hunan Equipment Manufacturing Park, Sany will jointly operate the Adama-Hunan Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Park with Chinese and Egyptian enterprises. Based on the Adama Wind Power Industrial Park, the park will strive to form a modern equipment manufacturing cooperation park dominated by four major industrial sectors, including construction machinery, energy and power, automobiles and parts, and general equipment, in 2020. Sany will invest in the construction of the parkWind power equipmentIt is a high-end equipment manufacturing base mainly supplemented by other equipment.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Cooperation on Co-operation in Investment Projects in Africa and Portuguese-speaking Countries states that Sany will work with the China-Africa Development Fund and China Development Bank to expand its overseas business. Based on the projects in Algeria, Ethiopia, Tunisia, South Africa, Brazil and other countries, the three parties will further strengthen overseas cooperation and form a "huddle effect". The China-Africa Development Fund and China Development Bank will provide financial support for Sany's business expansion in the above countries and regions.

Xiang Wenbo said that the focus areas of international production capacity cooperation in this meeting are highly consistent with Sany's main business, providing new opportunities for Sany to further cultivate Africa.

It is also reported that Sany has established a deep friendship with African countries, especially Ethiopia. The company participated in the construction of the second phase of the Adama wind power project in Ethiopia*5655, the construction of the wind farm, which has been closely watched by the senior leaders of the Chinese and Egyptian governments. Sany has been in the African market for more than 10 years, and the company's total equipment in Africa has exceeded 12,000 units, with cumulative sales of more than 10 billion yuan.
