2002 was the first year of the Bauma Shanghai Exhibition, with 458 exhibitors and 32,068 visitors. After 2004, by the time of the third Shanghai Bauma Exhibition in 2006, the number of exhibitors had reached 1,088 and the number of visitors had reached 80,686.

In 2008, under the background of the financial crisis, Bauma Shanghai still hit a new high in terms of exhibition scale, number of exhibitors and number of visitors, and the exhibition area expanded by 40% to 210,000 square meters; The number of exhibitors increased by 48% to 1,608; The number of visitors increased by 40% to 112,674.
