On September 28, local time, U.S. President Barack Obama issued an executive order prohibiting Ralls, an affiliate of Sany Group, from building four wind farms near a military base in Oregon, the United States, on the grounds of "threatening U.S. national security", and requiring Ralls to withdraw all investment from the project within 90 days.
Previously, the project was banned by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), of which Obama headed *5661.
In response, Ralls took CFIUS to court on September 12, and later added Obama as a defendant and sought damages.
Sany Heavy Industry issued a statement saying it was not involved
After the news broke, some domestic media reported that "Sany Heavy Industry's U.S. subsidiary sued U.S. President Obama for wind power projects", Sany Heavy Industry said in a statement yesterday that the lawsuit against CFIUS and Oba President Ma is a move by Sany Group and its affiliated company Ralls.
According to the statement, Ralls is an affiliate of Sany Group, which is engaged in the investment and construction of wind power business in the United States, and has no affiliation with Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., nor is it a subsidiary of Sany Heavy Industry.
Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., an A-share listed company whose main business is construction machinery, has not participated in any business in the field of wind power, and has not participated in any form of participation in the case. All wind power businesses of Sany Group are unlisted assets of the Group.
At present, Sany Group is China's *5655 and the world's sixth largest construction machinery manufacturer, and Sany Heavy Industry is the core enterprise of the group.
