On June 25, Saudi Global Ports (SGP), a joint venture of PSA International Holdings (PSA), and Sany Offshore held a signing ceremony for 80 electric container trucks. According to the Saudi Port Authority (Mawani), this is the world's largest single electric container truck order.
Mr Rayan AlBakri, Deputy Minister of Transport of Saudi Arabia, Edward Tah, CEO of SGP, Fu Weizhong, Chairman of Sany Offshore, and Tang Weibin, General Manager of Overseas Marketing Company, attended the signing ceremony.
SGP is a joint venture between PSA, PIF and Al Blagha Group. This partnership will help accelerate the low-carbon development and modernize operations of PSA's ports, helping them become efficient, flexible and sustainable logistics hubs. In the long run, Sany Marine's contribution to climate change is in line with the sustainable development goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
It is understood that since 2013, SGP and Sany Offshore have cooperated for 12 years, and have delivered about 50 sets of mobile port equipment and 6 RTGs.
