Shanghai South of Yangzi River Changxing Shipyard, also known as CSSC Changxing Shipyard, belongs to Shanghai Jiangnan Shipbuilding Group (also referred to as CSSC), formerly known as Shanghai Jiangnan Shipyard, officially bid farewell to its homeland and moved to Changxing Island on June 3, 2008. Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Shipyard is located at the southeast end of Changxing Island, Chongming County, Shanghai, and officially started construction on June 3, 2005. The first phase of the project covers an area of 560 hectares, using 3.8 kilometers of shoreline, building 4 large docks, with an annual shipbuilding production capacity of 4.5 million tons and a total of 3 shipbuilding production lines. It is a shipbuilding base with 8981 large scale, 8981 advanced facilities and 8981 international competitiveness in China. After 3 years of intense construction, the first phase of the CSSC Changxing Shipbuilding Base was fully completed ahead of schedule today, which also announced that the domestic *8981 * * 8981* shipyard was put into operation. The new factory built *8,983 ships were delivered in 2009.
