The Bund, located on the bank of the Huangpu River in the Huangpu District of downtown Shanghai, is the Outer Huangpu Beach, which has been divided into the British Concession since 1844 (the twenty-fourth year of the Qing Dynasty), becoming a true portrayal of Shanghai's ten-mile ocean, and also the starting point of the old Shanghai Concession and the beginning of the entire modern city of Shanghai. On the west side of the 1.5-kilometer-long Bund, there are 52 classical revival buildings of different styles, known as the Bund International Architecture Expo, which has become the financial center and foreign trade institutions of the old Shanghai period, and is also a portrayal of the old Shanghai capitalism, which has always been regarded as the landmark building of Shanghai and the symbol of the city's history.
