The 2015 Beijing International Wind Energy Conference, a feast of wind energy technology from 65 countries and more than 1,700 exhibitors, has recently come to an end. The Sany exhibition area, which comprehensively displays 10 innovative technologies such as strengthened speed increasing machine and hydraulic pitch system, has become the popular *5661 exhibition area at this exhibition.
At the wind energy conference, Mao Zhongwu, director of Sany Group and vice chairman of Sany Renewable Energy, accepted an exclusive interview with media reporters, detailing the positioning of the whole industry chain and the vision of becoming a "global wind power * 5656 brand".

Q: Could you please talk about the whole industry chain? What are its unique advantages?
Mao Zhongwu: In a narrow sense, the whole industry chain is the main core components of independent research and development and batch self-made, such as speed increasers, blades, motors, converters, etc. Broadly speaking, it is the participation and control of the whole process of wind power business from design, planning, construction to operation, and of course, including financial services, which is the real whole industry chain.
"The first machine manufacturer in China with the whole industry chain" has always been the market positioning that Sany Renewable Energy adheres to. This model has outstanding advantages in integration and collaborative R&D and product quality improvement, and is the core competitiveness of Sany Renewable Energy. After several years of accumulation, the technical research and development capabilities of domestic wind turbines have been significantly improved, but the slow technological progress is only focused on the two directions of continuously increasing capacity and continuous subdivision of functions, and the technological changes that can really be called "disruptive innovation" have not appeared. Only the whole industry chain can make the wind power industry have real disruptive innovation and breakthrough development. Of course, it takes a huge amount of cost and manpower to build a whole industry chain platform. Only enterprises with strong strength and abundant funds are suitable for the "whole industry chain". The reason why Sany Renewable Energy has invested heavily in the construction of the whole industry chain is that on the one hand, it has fully possessed the ability of the whole industry chain after years of efforts, and it also fully demonstrates that Sany Renewable Energy has the courage to take responsibility as a responsible enterprise, and only in this way can customers rest assured and firmly support us.
Q: Sany Renewable Energy's business not only includes the R&D, manufacturing and sales of wind turbines, but also the development and operation of wind farms.
Mao Zhongwu: First of all, we are gathering the strength of the whole group and striving to build Sany Renewable Energy into one of the three core sectors of the group, that is, the energy sector, so the self-operated wind farm is one of the important guarantees for us to achieve this strategy. What we provide is the service of the whole industry chain, the construction and operation capacity of wind farms is very important to us, Sany Renewable Energy is not only an equipment provider, we want to realize the integration of energy equipment and new energy field operations. At the same time, Sany Renewable Energy is making every effort to promote the "Top Ten Innovations" project of wind power technology, and our new technologies and products can be tested in our own wind farms;
What needs to be introduced to you is that our self-built wind farm in Ningxiang, Hunan Province will all use our new technology and can be hoisted in November, and the application of these new technologies will reduce the total cost of the entire wind farm by 10%. At the same time, we have three wind farms under construction. When these wind farms are connected to the grid for power generation and operate stably, we will promote them to the whole country.
Q: R&D capability is one of the core advantages of Sany Renewable Energy, can you give us a brief introduction to the specific situation?
Mao Zhongwu: In terms of R&D and innovation capabilities, Sany Renewable Energy not only has a *5658* computer center in the industry, but also an academician-level technical user group and a professional R&D team of more than 600 people. The R&D team not only has first-class wind power technology users, but also gathers cutting-edge talents from the fields of hydraulics, machinery, control, materials and other fields in the construction machinery industry, realizing the integration of core technology of construction machinery and energy equipment. At present, Sany Renewable Energy has obtained 296 authorized patents, including 138 invention patents, and is one of the enterprises with the most patents among domestic wind power manufacturing enterprises. Sany Renewable Energy will make full use of the Group's four R&D and manufacturing bases in the United States, Germany, India and Brazil and the advantages of its platform in more than 100 countries around the world to continuously deepen technological innovation and create more value for customers!
Q: Does Sany Renewable Energy currently have any technical improvements for wind turbines with low wind speed and high prototype?
Mao Zhongwu: low wind speed, high prototype these technologies are not revolutionary innovation, but in the local practical improvement, in the low wind speed we are committed to the development of large, high length of blades, we have been developing the longest blades, now our main model is 2WM, the future will be 2.5-3WM, gradually become the main model, especially in low wind speed areas, next year our 3WM will be off the assembly line. For low wind speeds, we are now concentrated on about 5 meters, and there are huge resources that can be used in the country to achieve about 5.5 meters.
Q: Can you share with us the latest progress and overall plan of Sany Renewable Energy's internationalization?
Mao Zhongwu: The Trinity of a nation must first of all be a globalized Trinity. Sany Renewable Energy places internationalization at a strategic height related to its own long-term development. To this end, we have developed a "dual focus" strategy, focusing on major markets such as India, the United States, North America, South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. By 2020, Sany Renewable Energy's sales in the international market will account for a quarter of the entire sales, which is expected to reach 10 billion yuan. We have made full use of the group's four R&D and manufacturing bases in India, the United States, Germany and Brazil, as well as the network channel resources covering more than 100 countries and regions around the world, and have made many gratifying achievements in the journey of internationalization, including the United States and Ethiopia. At present, except for the third phase of the wind farm in Ethiopia, most of the wind farms we serve have been put into production. The third phase of the wind farm in Ethiopia can be commissioned this year, and we have provided the equipment and services.
We also want to actively go out by exchanging technology and investment for market, including in Ethiopia, where we will invest in an industrial park together with CLP Overseas. In addition, we went to South Africa together with.
Q: Now that the Chinese government has given strong support to renewable energy, what is your prediction for the development of the wind power industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan period?
Mao Zhongwu: "The 13th Five-Year Plan is a critical period for China's energy transformation and development, and it is also a critical period for the sustainable and healthy development of renewable energy industries such as wind power. According to the "Energy Development Strategic Action Plan" issued by the State Council, by the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan", non-fossil energy accounted for 15% of primary energy consumption, which means that the transformation of renewable energy such as wind power from supplementary energy to alternative energy should be the main keynote. According to the plan, the installed capacity of wind power in the 13th Five-Year Plan will reach 150 million kilowatts. Therefore, the proportion of wind power in new energy sources will definitely increase. Of course, the development of the wind power industry is also facing certain difficulties, such as grid consumption, subsidy funds, wind power costs and other objective factors, these problems need to include the government, enterprises and other parties to gradually solve, it is gratifying that these situations are being improved, such as President Xi Jinping's commitment at the United Nations, including the introduction of a series of policies, and the construction of 27 UHV lines, will effectively alleviate the phenomenon of curtailment of wind power. Overall, we are confident in the future development prospects of the wind power industry.
Q: The development of offshore wind power is now difficult. What are Sany Renewable Energy's considerations for the development of offshore wind power?
Mao Zhongwu: Sany Renewable Energy focuses on wind power equipment, and offshore wind power is the focus of our next R&D. Sany Renewable Energy's offshore 8MW wind turbine can be rolled off the assembly line for trial installation in 2016, including offshore construction equipment, and we have done intensive research and development. At present, the offshore construction equipment has been intensively researched and developed, and revolutionary innovation will be carried out in terms of technology, which will greatly reduce the construction and hoisting time and cost. In areas with low wind speeds, we creatively use two blades, which we are already developing, and the longest blades, we are also developing. At present, the main model of our offshore wind power is 2.5MW, and the 3 MW model will gradually become the main model in the future. Next year, Sany Renewable Energy's 3MW offshore wind turbine will be ready to roll off the assembly line.
